LOWELL CELEBRATES KEROUAC CONCERT (7:30-9:30pm)
March 14, 2020 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm
Wendee Glick and Friends Celebrate Jack Kerouac
Wendee and Friends will perform for the Annual Lowell Celebrates Kerouac Birthday event at the Gallery Z in Lowell.
An experienced jazz vocalist, Wendee Glick is a singer with a strong stage presence, sense of humor, and ability to belt out a tune, even over a full big band orchestra. She can engage the audience in the up-tempo, or make them weep over a ballad sung with a “bell-like” quality. Wendee has developed a substantial following in the New England area, and she works with the best musicians.
“They have to be great musicians, but just as important… great souls.”
The “great souls” with her for this performance are:
Guitarist/Composer/Educator, John Baboian
John has been on the faculty at Berklee College of Music in Boston since 1980. Before beginning his teaching career at Berklee, he received a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Berklee and later a Masters Degree in Jazz Studies from New England Conservatory. He has performed with famous headliners throughout the US and Canada, Japan, Central & South Americas, Europe, South Africa, and the former Soviet Union including his ancestral home, Armenia. John has even performed on television!
Acoustic Bass/Conductor/Arranger/Educator, Greg Holt
Originally from NY, Greg has a Masters of Music degree from the New England Conservatory of Music, and is a co-chair for the Boston Arts Academy music department. In addition to teaching and playing in the pit for many a theatrical production, Greg has been freelancing as a sideman throughout his career and his collaborations range from the Boston Pops, Jazz artists the NY Voices and Kurt Elling, blues artists Johnny Adams and Sam McClane, and Jazz Harpist Deborah Henson-Conant.
…the infectiousness of her singing, her joy in the enterprise becoming evident to anyone who listens to her…” Bill Donaldson – Cadence Magazine
